Offroad sand rails, quads, and motorcycles at the Glamis drags

Thanksgiving weekend at the Glamis sand dunes is always a good time. One of the highlights is the sand drags, just off of Gecko Road. It’s a run what you brung, no rules type of race; whoever you pull up next to on the little hill is who you square off against. It could be sand rail against dune buggy, or quad against dirt bike.

Here are some photos from the Glamis sand drags, shot with a Sony a7R and an old manual focus Tamron SP 60-300 zoom. The area being shot was maybe 75 yards x 100 yards in size, so zone focusing was not the best solution.
